Start of the 112 mile bike race portion of the Ironman

Crowds in town meant many businesses closed for the day.

Many of the Ironman spectators watch the action on the giant screen

Web Master Notes:  Since this was my first Ironman race, we had trouble finding a place to park and arrived later than I would have liked.  Figured I would use this year to scout a good place to photograph from since the crowds were much bigger than I anticipated.  I loved the fact that upbeat Hawaiian music was playing when we arrived for the swim portion - they even sung the national anthem in Hawaiian before the Ironman races began.  We watched the rest of the race on streaming video once we got home.
